MinimalWriteris built local-first. Your writing stays on your Mac, and we don't track you.

Your notes never leave your Mac

Every note is a plain Markdown file saved locally on your machine. MinimalWriter has no cloud, no account, and no server that stores your writing. Your words never leave your Mac unless you move them yourself.

When the app uses the network

The app works completely offline once set up. The only times it touches the network are:

·Downloading the on-device AI model from Hugging Face the first time you launch the app. After that, AI runs entirely on your Mac.
·Processing your one-time payment through Stripe. Checkout is handled entirely by Stripe — we never see or store your card details.
·Emailing your license key to the address you used at checkout, so you can activate the app.

No analytics, no account

MinimalWriter does not include analytics, telemetry, or tracking, and there is no account to create. We keep a record of your purchase email and order so we can deliver and re-send your license key — nothing more.
